| A holiday gift from St. Festivarius... |
|---|
Season's Greetings from all of us at Planet Bluegrass. As a gift to all Festivarians, we've packaged up the magical year we all shared into a holiday video and wrapped it up in a big holiday bow. Lay your laptop next to the fireplace, gather a few friends, click here, and join us in celebrating the many joys of two-thousand eight. Thanks for another wonderful year. We can't wait to see you in '09.
2009 festival tickets are now on-sale. We will again be offering special holiday-priced festival passes (a $30 discount) for all our festivals while they last - holiday passes for RockyGrass are already gone! As always, we charge no handling or shipping fees of any kind. Order your tickets and camping at shop.bluegrass.com or 800-624-2422. While you're there, check out our winter line of festivarian gear including hats, fleece vests, and stainless steel water bottles.
We're thrilled to announce the first of our 2009 festival lineups - the 37th Annual RockyGrass (July 24-26, 2009). Grit, drive, and soul will fill the stage at our traditional bluegrass festival as we welcome Steve Earle & the Bluegrass Dukes, Hot Rize, Earl Scruggs, Del McCoury Band, and many many more along the banks of the St. Vrain River in Lyons. Tickets and camping are available now. Several spots are still open for the greatest week of pickin' anywhere at our RockyGrass Academy (July 19-23). Register now for one of our few remaining spaces in the clawhammer banjo or bass classes.

We're hard at work confirming artists for the 36th Annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival (June 18-21). All we can confirm right now is that music, mountains, and magic will be uniquely intertwined once again for the annual festivarian family reunion. (Well, actually you can find a few hints about this year's lineup in our last Notes from the Planet.) Recommend your favorite artists for this year's lineup in the lively discussion over at the Festivarian Forum.
In August we turn our attention to song at the 19th Annual Rocky Mountain Folks Festival (August 14-16). Last year's festival, lovingly dubbed "the soaks festival," ended with triumph after triumph as we curled up with friends under layers of tarps and wool, singing along with some of the world's most important songwriters. If you joined us last summer, take a minute to share your thoughts on the Festivarian Forum. Then get your tickets for the 2009 Folks Festival - including a limited number of holiday-priced three-day passes. We'll be making an initial lineup announcement early this winter.

We're excited to introduce several new classes for the 2009 RockyGrass Academy (July 19-23): traditional dance, songwriting & vocals, a guitar building course, and clawhammer banjo. In addition, we're offering instrument instruction from our world-class faculty, including Byron Berline, Dan Crary, Rob Ickes, Claire Lynch, Kruger Brothers, and many others.
In 2007, Governor Bill Ritter, jr. declared June 23 Colorado Bluegrass Day - honoring Planet Bluegrass for "using renewable energy to help protect our environment while producing a world-class festival." This honor reflects our years of leading the way in sustainable festivation and the green festival movement in America. Share your thoughts in our new sustainability blog.
