Folks Fest MoonGrass
It's not every year that the full moon coincides with the Folks Festival... It's not every year that the moon shines so brightly on the Folks Festival Saturday night...
In some parts of the world, there'll be a partial lunar eclipse; here on Planet Bluegrass we'll create our own musical/energetic eclipse: the 1st ever Folks Festival MoonGrass show in the Wildflower Pavilion.
To help us celebrate the Folks Festival moon dance, we've invited Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers to play a special late-night set in the Wildflower Pavilion. Undeniably one of the most memorable sets at the 2006 Telluride Bluegrass Festival and on last year's Wildflower Concert Series, Stephen Kellogg & the Sixers combine rich, honest songwriting with the onstage cameraderie of one of America's best live bands.
We'll give everyone a few minutes to clear out of the Festival grounds after Nanci Griffith's set ends on the main stage at 10:30pm. Then we'll re-open the Wildflower Pavilion at 11:15pm for this late-night MoonGrass concert.
Tickets ($10) are available in advance (no handling fees!) or at the door (Cash Only!) on the night of the show. These tickets are sold separately from Festival tickets; children 12 and under are free.
