Festival Camping

On-site campground at RockyGrass |
---|
RockyGrass is widely known as a "picker's festival." And that pickin' happens in the campgrounds - late-night intimate jams where the pros and the hot-shot festivarians trade songs and hot licks. Though the music on the main stage blows everyone's mind every single year, for many festivarians the campground scene is the RockyGrass experience.
Once again, we will be holding a green campsite challenge. This year's winning campsite will win on-site camping passes for the 2009 Festival. Camping for the 36th Annual RockyGrass is on sale now. On-site camping again sold-out through an online lottery system, but we still have camping in two other campgrounds available now at shop.bluegass.com or 800-624-2422.

Some ground rules before you put your stakes in...
- CAMPING IS SOLD PER PERSON AND PER VEHICLE, NOT PER SITE. If there are two of you and you want to have your vehicle or RV at the campground with you, you must purchase two camping passes and one vehicle or RV pass in addition to your Festival passes.
- A vehicle is considered anything requiring a license plate and under 18 feet in length.
-
Meadow Park campground - If you don't need your vehicle at your campsite - for sleeping or for storage - you don't need a campground vehicle pass. Most festivarians don't purchase a vehicle pass. You can temporarily drive in to the campground to unload your gear, then purchase parking (approximately $5 for the entire festival) at Bohn Park - including a free shuttle to the Festival. Check out the Festival map for a general layout of Lyons and our campgrounds.
- Some changes to the vehicle pass arrangements in Meadow Park: The town of Lyons is in the middle of a restoration project, so vehicles are not allowed by the river in Meadow Park. No need to worry - we have space for all vehicle passes, it just won't be by the river.
- Showers are available at the Festival in the Planet Bluegrass Bath House.
- Fires are allowed in campgrounds except when fire bans are issued in the area.
- All campgrounds close at noon on Monday, July 27.
