Volunteering for the 2006 Festival of the Mabon

Tornaod at the 2006 Festival of the Mabon

The volunteer application for the 2007 Festival of the Mabon will be posted in early 2007. Be sure you're subscribed to the Planet Bluegrass Newsletter for the latest updates from the Planet.

Despite a hardworking full-time staff, Planet Bluegrass events would never be possible without the help and hard work of our volunteers. As a volunteer, you will be greeting and dealing with the public, a task which requires many warm smiles and kind words (does this fit your personality?) In general, you will make sure each festivarian has on the proper wristband, check backpacks for items not allowed and/or direct vehicles where to park.

Remember, volunteers represent Planet Bluegrass to thousands of festivarians. If the thought of remaining sober during your shifts bums you out, volunteering is not for you. If greeting and helping festivarians does seem like something you want to do, then volunteering is for you. We want friendly, fun-loving planetarians only, thank you!

2006 Volunteering Specifics

Please read the following carefully. Thanks for your attention and cooperation.

You will be assigned one 3-hour shift in exchange for a festival pass.

The following must be included with your application to be considered for a volunteer:

  1. Complete the online volunteer application.
  2. Two personal checks payable to Planet Bluegrass. Please put the name of the volunteer in the memo line of the check.
    a. The first in the amount of $35.00, which acts as a deposit against the completion of your shift. We will shred all deposit checks after the festival as long as your commitment is completely and satisfactorily fulfilled. If not, your check will be deposited!
    b. The second in the amount of $8.00, which is a nonrefundable processing fee and will be cashed if you are accepted as a volunteer.
  3. If you have already purchased a festival pass or a festival pass with On-Site Camping:
    a. Your ticket will act as a deposit against the completion of your shift. If you complete your shift satisfactorily we will refund you appropriately (by check or credit card).
    b. If you purchased a festival pass with On-Site Camping ticket, we will only refund the festival pass portion of the ticket. You will be required to turn in your ticket at the festival when you check in, in order to receive your volunteer wristband.
  4. Send your 2 checks to the following address. Application will be processed when payment is received. Send checks to:
  5. Planet Bluegrass
    attn. Volunteers
    PO Box 769
    Lyons, CO 80540.

  6. All positions are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. An email will be sent upon acceptance as a volunteer.  You will also receive your schedule via email at a later date.
